I know that this might just be a little experiments over the pain points that my mother have when using Spotify, but I still did a little bit of research to see if there’s anyone out there having the same problem. She found a couple of blog which provide romanization but well the process take quite long and the romanization also quite different.Įversince that happened, there’s a single question come to my mind: How might we improve Spotify’s lyrics widget? The result she found on the top was still the hangeul version of the lyric but she manage to found the romanization on the results below it. Since Spotify didn’t provide romanization of the lyrics, my mom end up searching for the lyrics on Google. Spotify Lyrics Widget (Shout out to Stray Kids for this awesome track right here tho ehe). I’ll instantly be in the same situation like my mom. So well I probably going to be lost in translation too when it comes to songs outside of the language that I able to speak, especially when the language have their own alphabetical system. The same also goes with Japanese songs and probably most country which have their own alphabetical characters in their language system. so I didn’t have much problem but as for my mom who didn’t speak Korean? It is a problem. If you’re asking how can I understand the lyrics shown in Spotify but my mom doesn’t? Yup you guess it right, I eventually able to speak and read Korean & Japanese language. As I show her the lyrics widget on Spotify, she got confused because she found out that korean lyrics in spotify are mostly use korean alphabetical characters (Hangeul). Later on, my mom call me again asking where do I get the lyrics at (She’s trying to sing along with the song too). She came to me and ask me where do I listen to the song and where do I read the lyrics, well it was all on Spotify. The song was quite popular that time as it was a soundtrack of a K-Drama and my mom eventually watched the drama and know the song. It was few months ago, I was humming to a K-Pop song as I’m doing my task.
